got this in my e-mail this morning so i copyed it a put on ere as i know alot of peeps who go uni use this site

What's it all about?

Ifs (http://www.ifslearning.com/) is a registered charity whose purpose is to provide structured financial education. It has today launched a challenge for uni students to invest a fantasy ?100,000 to help you learn about shares, bonds, gilts and the rest with the winner taking home a tidy ?9K. Post grad students can also take part but the prize is only ?3,000 for them.

How to take part
Simply go to the Uni Investor site(http://www.uni-investor.org/) and register your details. You'll need to include details of a lecturer and their e-mail addres so make sure you check it out with them first.

Trading starts 1 February 2007 and ends 30 April 2007. Once you have opened your account you will be given a fantasy ?100,000 with the aim to make it grow as much as possible.

Game Rules
Competition trading runs from 1 February 2007 until 30 April 2007.

You must be 18yrs or over and a student at a university or higher education college to participate. You will need to provide the name and contact details of one of your lecturers who can vouch that you are an eligible student.

You may play as an individual or as part of a team.

You can invest in shares in any UK listed company, as well as benchmark gilts and you can even go 'short'.

The team or individual in first place in the Undergraduate category will receive a cheque for ?9000.

The team or individual in first place in the Postgraduate category will receive a cheque for ?3000.

There will also be 10 runner-up prizes in each category, which will be announced when the Challenge opens.

The team or individual with the best performing portfolio at the end of 30 April 2007 will receive a cheque for ?200.

The team or individual with the best performing portfolio at the end of each trading month will receive a cheque for ?150. This prize can only be won once by a team or individual during the Challenge.

You can check your performance against others in the challenge or those from your particular uni; you can also set up your own league tables to hot up the competition.

At the end of the trading period, the top 30 participants will be invited to submit a short report or essay on a related topic to determine the overall winners.
