i doubt rapidshare will shut down. as it says in the article it does not control what people upload ... therefore not rapidshares problem

rapidshare is not, will not, and could not be shut down, even if it is, it best wait until after my 3 month premium account on it expires in april before it does.. *crosses fingers* *touches wood* lllooolll

This is really unfortunate. I think it's great that you can upload large files from work to home and home to work without having to bring along a flashdrive. Very convenient!

i doubt that RS will be ended, coz what RS trying to do is to protect their customers. And RS actually willing to help GEMA, if GEMA found their songs there

I actually hope they do get rid of it. RapidShare is probably the most used file sharing service but the one that causes the most problems. It won't even let me download anything of .de and on .com it makes me wait an age for my download and even if I only download a small file, it still makes me what at least 30 mins till I can download again. Megaupload is the way forward.

pfff it just keeps going on and on.

If they shut rapidshare down it won't take long before something new will pop up, this was also the situation with limewire, kazaa and that kind of share programs.

I think that if they close it, then all the sites that hosted their stuff there will just change it to a better host (that won't have a super long latency period between each download.)

rapidshare is good if you can change your ip, but not so good if your behind a proxy like me. i dunno where all these sites have come from just a few years ago when i would look for stuff torrenting was the only way. if it gets shut down that would be quite bad for me cos when i get home it becomes quite useful.

same.. i love rapidshare and hope it doesnt get shut down, the only reason i dont like rapidshare is because i dont have a premium account (and dont know how 2 get 1 without paying) and i have 2 wait ages before i can download a full episode! but otherwise i love it, amazing 700KB/s speeds

I don't like using rapidshare anyway, can't afford a premium membership thing so I have to wait aaaages anytime I download from there... I'm happy with megaupload and sendspace and sites like that - no big limits and not a lot of waiting times.
