How to take Screencaps using a Mac

Taking screenshots is a very simple thing to do yet people may still be unsure on how to do this. If you want to make a graphic from that really cool scene then this will teach you how to get that shot. Once you have taken the screen cap it would be best to use a programme such as Photoshop to edit the image.

Quicktime:
Pause video where you wish to take a screen capture
Click on the movie and drag the frame onto your desktop.

VLC:
Pause video where you wish to take a screen capture
Press alt-⌘-s at the same time

Using OS X:
Press ⌘-shift-4 at the same time.
Cross Hairs will appear where the cursor would be.
You can click and drag to take a screenshot of a customizable selection of the screen.
Or, you can press spacebar after ⌘-shift-4 and the crosshairs will turn into a camera which allows you to take a screenshot of an entire program window.
